Monochromatic blue outfit

Wearing: Zara skirt// Primark jacket// HM hat// Woolford stockings// Minimarket shoes

This is one of my favourite outfits, I love monochromatic blue! Also I got to bring my feather skirt from Zara out for a spin - it's perhaps one of my best purchases ever. If you like monochrome looks don't rush out and buy a whole color scheme at once, all the different pieces I picked up at different times, and suddenly it all matched. Keen on learning more about monochromatic colors?

Acne pants

Wearing: Acne trousers// Cubus sweater// secondLove fur stole // Acne shoes

I think the best buy I ever did was this pair of Acne trousers. I got them at the Acne Archives store in Elmegade, and I'd been stalking these for over 6 months to get some discount. Needless to say they're quite expensive - but oh so joyful! Combined with my wonderful secondlove mongolian fur I think my silhouette benefits from them both!

New haircut and color

It's such a relief to get ones hair cut and dyed! Personally I feel like I've lost 5 kilos each time I go.

Officewear

Wearing: Jacket SecondLove// Inner jacket Primark// Skirt: HM// Backpack First Of August

A simple everyday outfit for the office. I like this scarf that I've got, I can use it as a turban when I've got some horrible hair going on. This friday I'm getting a haircut, and I promise you it will feel like true rebirth! Stay tuned for friday's post....

Mint flavour

Wearing: Everything vintage// Shoes from a shop in Milan// Headpiece from Etsy

Me and my photographer Karianne had so much fun discovering new locations this weekend, this mint green wall happened to match my look to perfection. The culottes were given to me by Karianne, and I absolutely love them! I'd been on the hunt for summer culottes for a while, and then they just fell down from the sky after her trip to New York.

The right camera and lens for good blog pictures

My photographer Karianne uses a Nikon D3000 with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens and a professional blitz. When I take my pictures by myself I use a Canon 650D with a 50mm 1.8 lens. Before I used a system camera called Olympus Pen 1, where you just click and shoot. I missed being able to focus on the outfit, and the details - instead of having every single element in the background visible in the picture.

Portrait lenses like the 50mm are quite cheap (around 1000NOK) and give a much more professional look than the standard 18-55 mm lens you get in the package. I've also used a Nikon 85mm f1.2 and a Sigma 85mm f1.4 which provided stunning results. By now you're probably wondering what those 1.something numbers are. They indicate how much light the lens will allow into the camera. The lower the number (1.2) the better the lens is for taking pictures in bad lighting conditions.

The only problem with the 50 and 85mm is that you have to stand 5-10 meters away from the motif. Therefore my next purchase is a 35mm and a full format house (6D from Canon) The 35mm has more of a wide angle, which will enable me to take pictures inside my apartment - I've never been able to do that because I haven't got 5-10 meters to back up, to get everything in the picture. I hope this was helpful, don't hesitate to ask for more guides!

How to dress in fall colors

Take a look at nature around you, and then take a look in your closet. Which colors provide you with the same feeling as the great outdoors? Fall has a certain color palette which (to me) consists of mustard, burgundy, dark purple, chestnut brown, chocolate brown, dark and light wooly grey and powdery pink. Insted of using black as a uni-color I prefer to use white, which is a good bridge. But I also think using brown leather shoes and accessories look particularly nice with the autumn palette. If you'd like to learn more about dressing in color, see How to combine red, purple and magenta

How to combine red, purple and magenta

Wearing: Jacket by DVF// Skirt made by me// Thrifted blouse// JC shoes// Cavalli e nastri vintage hat

Today I realized that I'm actually wearing three different colors that don't really mix - unless you've got an open mind. How to combine red, purple and magenta you say; well, I'd advise to go with your gut feeling on what's your preference. Take the red color here for instance, the hat has a colder variety of red and my jacket has a mix of bright (warm) red and  blue which allows me to bridge over to a cold base color like purple. See other examples of mixing several different colors in Pleats please and Cashmere sweater.

My favourite AW14 looks

Top from the left: Lyn Devon// Carven// Louis Vuitton// DSQUAREDBottom from right: Matthew Williamson// Gucci// Akris// Peter Pilotto
Oh how I wish that the 60's and 70's looks and silhouettes weren't recreated for AW14! It hurts to much not having the wallet to indulge in the autumn trends.Source: Style.com
